Montoo was 33 years old when he had a heart attack in India. The only people around him at that time, did not know how to do CPR and so Montoo died before they took him to the hospital in a personal car. Emergency response system in India is slow and many people die before they reach the hospital.

Montoo's young wife was 7 month pregnant with their first child and Montoo's pharmacist brother  was about to be married a week later. 

For 20 years tMontoo's Brother went around telling people that he may have been able to save Montoo's life, if he was there by doing CPR, until his son asked him one day - When did you learn CPR? Thats the moment Montoo's brother realized that he had been lying unwittingly for 20 years. He could not have saved his brother's life as he had never learned CPR in school.

Thats how Project Montoo was born with the aim of advocating inclusion of CPR in curriculum of schools and colleges in India and help raise money for mannequins for kids to practice on in schools in India.
